From Beijing Consensus to Washington Consensus: China’s Journey to Liberalization and Globalization (I)

China’s massive transformation from a centrally planned economy to a market economy has received worldwide attention. There is a strong tendency among many commentators to equate China’s economic liberalization program with neoliberal Washington Consensus based on rapid privatization, deregulation and globalization policies.
